The presentation outlines the role of the different parts of an individuals brain, and how these parts communicate with one another, the body and the external world - including the effect that prenatal exposure to alcohol can have on these processes. Karmen provides the information needed for caregivers and support persons to understand the functional areas of the brain that are affected by prenatal alcohol exposure, the resulting behavior, and how to effectively intervene and assist individuals with FASD..
