ChamberFest West presents Garden of Eden

Monday 15 July 2024 - Garden of Eden - the story of being human Innocence and experience, seduction and sin – our 2024 summer festival brings you Garden of Eden, another masterpiece of musical programming curated by Diana Cohen and Roman Rabinovich, CFW’s co-artistic directors. CFW kicks into high gear with a nod to Calgary’s popular Folk Music Festival. Genre-bending classical-folk crossover musicians and Juno award winners The Fretless perform with singer/songwriter Madeleine Roger; followed by a unique pairing of cello and piano with old friends, Nicholas Canellakis and Roman Rabinovich. The “brilliant and fearless” Macedonian clarinetist Ismail Lumanovski then joins Roman and Chris Sies to create a magical blend. This concert is free, outdoors at cSpace. New to ChamberFest West? History and Uses of Niitoy-yiss (the Tipi)

Saturday 13 July 2024 - Storytelling has been a way to pass down wisdom and knowledge by the Blackfoot people since time immemorial. Through the oral tradition, Blackfoot Elder Sheldon First Rider will share stories from Blackfoot culture in this intimate one-hour program. Every month, Sheldon will speak on a different topic, covering everything from mythology and food to history and spirituality.
