Thursday, 27 July 2023 - This film is being screened at Fort Calgary's Burnswest Theatre as the second installment of our Films at the Fort: Shot in Alberta event series. Doors open at 6:30 PM. The screening will kick off with a 30-minute talk by Calgary-based writer and arts educator Steve Gin to help moviegoers watch this 2005 hit through a critical eye and reflect on why this movie resonated so deeply with audiences. BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN Set against the sweeping vistas of Wyoming and Texas, the film tells the story of two young men – a ranch-hand and a rodeo cowboy – who meet in the summer of 1963, and unexpectedly forge a lifelong connection, one whose complications, joys, and tragedies provide a testament to the endurance and power of love. -
