Organized Crime Duo - one-of-a-kind musical comedy Dates / Times 2020-02-25 to 2020-02-25 (19:30 to 21:00) Organization Royal Canadian College of Organists Type Single Day Community 506 4 Street Southwest Calgary, ABT2P 1S7 What do you get when you mix two highly talented, funny, and irreverent young women with western Canada's largest church pipe organ? The Organized Crime Duo (OCD) of Rachel Mahon and Sarah Svendsen presented by the Royal Canadian College of Organists (RCCO) - Calgary Centre. The OCD is a comedic act whose shows uniquely combine organ playing with physical comedy. The original shows are co-written by Mahon and Svendsen and involve skits, costume changes, props and all genres of music. The pair embody larger-than-life characters in their stage act, during which, they interact with the audience as much as possible and have been known to incorporate various dance/gymnastic moves while they play organ. OCD was formed when the pair attended the University of Toronto, where they both completed music degrees. Their shows include a combination of classical organ repertoire and popular music transcribed and arranged for the "king of instruments." The goal of this duo is to entertain audiences with their music, antics (which involve dazzling shoes and hot tempers), and to promote the organ to a wider audience of all ages. With this purpose in mind, Organized Crime Duo's performances appeal to everyone including children and adults alike. Unlike any other organ concert — they must be seen as well as heard. The duo has played private and public events in cities across Canada, including Victoria, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal, Halifax and New Glasgow. They have also performed in Truro, United Kingdom. OCD was the opening act for the Montreal Organ Festival in 2017 and played for the Royal Canadian College of Organists 2019 National Organ Festival held in Halifax, NS. . Event Details.
