This event was greatly supported by our community, and we were delighted to have Mayor Naheed Nenshi and MLA Rick Mc Iver present, among other governing representatives. Together with community minded businesses and individuals, over 1,700 lbs. of food was given to the Calgary Food Bank. In addition, $18,894 was raised towards SHE Rescue Homes, which is a shelter in Cambodia for young girls aged 5-16 years that have been rescued from sexual exploitation, prostitution, and trafficking! Building on last year's success, Team Up Calgary is planning to increase our local community impact! In addition to supporting the Calgary Food Bank, Team Up Calgary will be contributing a portion of the Food Fest proceeds to Calgary's Sonshine Community Services, which has been providing safety and support to women, children, and families in the Calgary area for 35 years. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of the disadvantaged in our community and in our world. .
