Basketball Bonanza - A March Fundraiser for Mary's Meals Dates / Times 2018-03-10 to 2018-03-10 (17:00 to 21:00) Organization Mary's Meals Canada Type Single Day Community 1301 16 Avenue Northwest Calgary, ABT2M 0L4 In the spirit of basketball fun in March, we are pleased to present our Basketball Bonanza - a March fundraiser for Mary's Meals, raising funds to provide school meals for children at Mazala Primary School and Kagolo Primary School in Malawi, Africa, for one year. Our goal is to raise $18,208 which will provide a daily meal for the 1,138 students at both schools for a whole year. Our Basketball Bonanza consists of 3 events - a 3 point shooting competition (5 pm), slam dunk contest (6 pm) followed by our celebrity game (7 pm). If you are a great 3-point shooter, or can dunk a basketball, we invite you to enter the competitions for some great prizes! To enter, email us at info@marysmeals.ca. All are welcome to come watch! The celebrity game starts at 7 pm, and will be a fun-filled game, featuring some Calgary Flames Alumni, Olympic Athletes, Calgary business people and more! Entry is by donation at the door. Mary's Meals provides a daily meal in a place of education for children living in some of the world's poorest communities, where hunger and poverty prevent children from gaining an education. The meal attracts children to the classroom where they can receive an education which can be their ladder out of poverty in the future. Mary's Meals is a low-cost charity, committed to spending at least 93% of donations directly on our charitble programs.
