Calgary Civic Symphony Presents: Earth Day & C3 Location: Jack Singer Concert Hall (205 – 8 Avenue SE, Calgary) When: Sunday, April 21, 2013 at 2:30 PM Email: WebSite: Calgary Civic Symphony presents an afternoon of concerto music with four winners of the 2013 Calgary Concerto Competition (C3) with music director Rolf Bertsch.  The C3 is an annual competition that is open to all instrumental students under the age of 18 who are studying with a Calgary music teacher. Winners will each perform one movement from major concerto works with the orchestra. This is the 31st year that the Calgary Civic Symphony is hosting the concert with C3 winners.  Come discover and support the stars of tomorrow—today!   This year's winners are: Yunzhi Han, piano (14) - Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor by Chopin Edward Powell, violin (17) - Violin Concerto in B minor by Elgar Angela Ryu, violin (13) - Violin concerto in E minor by Mendelsshohn Peter Wang, piano (13) - Rapsodia Sinfonia by Turina   The orchestra will also mark Earth Day with performances of Rautavaara's evocative Cantus Arcticus and Smetana's brilliant picture of one of the world's great rivers, Die Moldau. -------- TICKETS:  $20 (general admission) / FREE (children under 6) Tickets are available by calling (403) 670-5430, by visiting, or at the door.   INFO:         Call (403) 670-5430 or visit for more information..
