Valdés credits his musical talents to his father, Bebo Valdés, a very popular Cuban bandleader who started Chucho's musical training at a young age. Already a gifted musician at the age of 3, Chucho could play by ear the melodies he heard on the radio, using both hands in any key. Valdés has recorded over 80 CDs during his illustrious career, performing with jazz masters, Herbie Hancock, Dizzy Gillespie, Wynton Marsalis and Chick Corea. Now performing as part of a quintet, this bright night will be decorated with the sounds of Duke Ellington, John Coltrane and Miles Davis with the set list taken from his latest release Chucho's Steps..
