Join us on Saturday, January 15th to celebrate the opening of our three new ice rinks at COP. It will be a day filled with skating, music, hay rides, free food and family fun. Schedule of activities: 11:30 am 4:00 pm Enjoy horse-drawn hay rides to and from COP parking lot to new ice complex. 11:30 am 12:30 pm See amazing ice sculptures created by Frozen Memories. 12:00 pm Warm up with FREE hot dog lunches. 12:00 1:00 pm Listen to the Matt Blais Band perform. 1:00 2:00 pm Be amazed and inspired by the ice complex Opening Ceremonies, hosted by internationally renowned illusionist Derek Selinger and including Canadian Olympians. 2:00 4:00 pm Enjoy FREE public skating on one of the three new North American size ice rinks. See sport demonstrations in hockey and sledge hockey presented by Hockey Canada, in biathlon, snowboard and more. Participate in contests, human bowling, face painting, balloon art and more. 2:00 - 3:00 pm Watch an impressive sledge hockey demonstration on Rink B. 3:00 5:30 pm BiFrost VIP All-Star Experience where local celebrities, media personalities and politicians from all three levels of government will play each other in a fun All-Star Game and Skills Competition. All events listed above are scheduled at the ice complex at COP. Please park in the main COP parking lot, hay rides will be available to shuttle to the ice complex. All skiers and snowboarders on the hill will not be left out, you will be able to celebrate with DJ music and watch the opening ceremonies on the large screen on the back deck of the Day Lodge.
