Friday, 21 March 2025 - International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8 is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women, the progress made in advancing women’s rights, and the ongoing efforts to ensure the full participation and equality of women in society. Commemorate International Women’s Day with a special talk and film screening in the Burnswest Theatre. Featuring executive director of the Women’s Centre of Calgary Lana Bentley, learn about the history of IWD and the work the Women’s Centre is doing to support and uplift the lives of women in Calgary. Following the discussion, stick around for a screening of award-winning film Hidden Figures, based on the true stories of three African-American women working at NASA in 1962. Presented in partnership with the Women’s Centre of Calgary. -
