Summer Concert Series at Pixel Park

Thursday 1 August 2024 - Kick off your summer weekends with live music every Friday at 6pm throughout the month of August at Pixel Park. From rock to indie-folk, enjoy performances from a variety of local artists. Don’t forget to grab a concert card from our EAST Team and enjoy 3 concerts to receive a $5 gift card to Village Ice Cream or Snowcapz. August 2 - Matt Blais Roots-rock troubadour Matt Blais goes in search of authenticity, passionately advocating for connection in good times and bad. Matt Blais is the current Calgary Songwriter in Residence and has collaborated with Sam Roberts, played over a thousand shows, opening for acts such as Blue Rodeo and The Strumbellas, and performed venues like Calgary Stampede’s Coca-Cola Stage, Big Valley Jamboree Songwriter Stage. August 9 - Heather Blush Whether playing solo or with her (up to) 5-piece band, Heather Blush performs mostly original music that is witty and engaging. Armed with her unique guitar playing style and a silky voice, she adapts her performance to suit the crowd in the moment. Although original music is her main focus, she can also hold her own for a venue more suited to vocal jazz standards or blues tunes. August 16 - Michela Sheedy Whether playing solo or with her (up to) 5-piece band, Heather Blush performs mostly original music that is witty and engaging. August 23 - Miranda Martini Miranda Martini is a writer and musician based in Calgary. She has composed extensively for theatre, TV and film, most recently appearing in the NFB film “John Ware Reclaimed,” which premiered at the 2020 Calgary International Film Festival in September. Martini wrote and recorded the majority of her first album, "Calendar," a meditation on seasons and occasions, while completing her Masters of Songwriting at Bath Spa University in the UK. August 30 – Emét Emét (Emmét McGonagle) is an indie-folk musician hailing from the North of Ireland and based in Calgary, Alberta. With influences ranging from Leonard Cohen and Hozier to Phoebe Bridgers, the Derry native released their musical debut “JJ Johnston” in the depths of the coronavirus pandemic. - Event Details
