Eroica Dates / Times 2020-04-05 to 2020-04-05 (14:30 to 16:30) Organization Calgary Civic Symphony Type Single Day Community Jack Singer Concert Hall, Arts Commons, 205 8th Avenue SECalgary, ABT2G 0K9 403.815.0663 The fourth concert of the 2019 – 2020 Calgary Civic Symphony season "Eroica" starts with Arthur Bachmann's musical tribute to Ted and Lola Rozsa and then features the Coimbra Piano Duo showcasing their exciting talents in Poulenc's "Concerto for Two Pianos". The concert will commence at 2:30 pm on Sunday, April 5th on the stage of the Jack Singer Concert Hall. Throughout our 2019-2020 season the Civic is celebrating the 250th anniversary of the mighty Beethoven's birthday and our April concert will feature Beethoven's Symphony No. 3 "Eroica" as the concert is brought to a magnificent conclusion. Maestro Rolf Bertsch conducts this ensemble of exceptional artists as we bring this wonderful collaboration to the stage of the Jack Singer Concert Hall. The Calgary Civic Symphony was founded in 1975 as Calgary's volunteer orchestra. Over the years, the Civic has swelled to over 80 musicians. With an interesting diversity in professions, its members come together each week to rehearse complex orchestral works. Under the baton of Artistic Director and Conductor Rolf Bertsch, the Symphony shapes and polishes performances that are truly brilliant!
