UNGANISHA Dates / Times 2018-02-17 to 2018-02-17 (14:00 to 16:00) Organization Woezo Africa Type Single Day Community Wright Theatre, Mount Royal University, 4825 Mount Royal Gat Calgary, ABT3E 6K6 Woezo Africa Music & Dance Theatre and Creoternity Theatre introduce UNGANISHA, a dance theatre showcase celebrating the history and influence of African culture on modern dance, for the first time in Calgary. UNGANISHA is the first dance showcase of its kind. It will bring together artists across nine different dance styles, dozens of ethnicities and multiple languages. The showcase celebrates the history and influence of African culture on modern dance, offering a glimpse at some of the city's best dance performers and choreographers. The event will also provide an opportunity to educate audiences about the lesser-known origins of some of the most popular forms of dance, including Tap, Jazz, Hip-hop, Samba, Salsa, Capoeira, Afro-Cuban, Afro-Caribbean and Step dance. .
