Concert Opera

Calgary Concert Opera - Opera can be pretty intimidating but when it comes down to it, opera joins a "dramatic" story line which everyone can relate to in one way or another, to music and singing. My husband and I started the Calgary Concert Opera Company in 2011 because we wanted to make opera more accessible to the public in less intimidating venues and at a very reasonable price. It also gives opera singers in Alberta, and now singers across Canada, a way to learn knew operas, get experience and prepare roles for the larger opera companies in Canada, right here in Calgary, Airdrie and Okotoks. Our upcoming Opera is called "Cosi fan tutte" by Mozart which means "All women are alike". It's a comic opera which includes 2 sisters, their fiances, a maid and an old cycnical philosopher. Basically, The philosopher makes a bet with the fiances that the sisters can't be faithful ... and the comic/drama starts from there ;) • March 25th at Scarboro United Church at 7pm • March 27th at Airdrie Faith Community Church at 7pm • March 29th at Okotoks United Church at 2pm Singers: Fiordiligi - Michele Cusson Dorabella - Barbara King (Calgary & Okotoks) & Alicia Woynarski (Airdrie) Guglielmo - Ian Fundytus Ferrando - Paul Williamson Despina - Katie McCullough & Ainsely Soutiere Don Alfonso - Andrew Greenwood Help support our Opera singers and visit www.calgaryconcertopera.com to purchase tickets today!
