Winter Birding Course 2013

Winter Birding Course 2013 - Start off the New Year by Increasing your Knowledge of the Natural World! Winter is the best time of year to begin learning to identify birds; they are easier to see as the trees have shed their leaves, there are fewer species present and they often occur in large flocks. When springtime arrives, you will already be familiar with 50 to 60 bird species and the new migrants will be easily identified. All sessions will be outdoors and take place in Fish Creek Provincial Park and other natural areas within Calgary. As a fundraiser for the Friends of Fish Creek, these outings will be conducted by lifelong birder and naturalist Gus Yaki and other experienced birding instructors. 12-week course starts January 7, 2013. Choose to come on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday OR Sunday mornings. Outings last approx. 2.5 hours and start at 9:15 am on weekdays and 9:00 am on weekends. Sunday afternoon course starts at 1:00pm. Reserve early as each group size is limited to 15 participants.
