The YYComedy Collective has invited Calgary comedians scattered across North America to come home and join over 100 of their peers to collectively present their best and funniest during Alberta's 2012 Culture Days. The YYComedy Festival will showcase the best of Calgary's comedians in performances, screenings and workshops covering stand-up, sketch, improv, theatre, film, television, radio, and the web. Show highlights of the YYComedy Festival include Peter Oldring and Pat Kelly in a rare live performance of their hit CBC Radio show "This is That" at the University Theatre on September 26th, four time Gemini and Canadian Comedy Award winner from "This Hour has 22 Minutes" Gavin Crawford in solo performance on September 27th, also at the University, and each of those acts along with the multi-award winning, and Canada's Walk of Fame inducted Bruce McCulloch and Mark McKinney of Kids In The Hall and an additional roster of our city's finest and funniest will perform at the YYComedy Gala September 29th at the Southern Jubilee Auditorium. Those events, along with the overwhelming support of Calgary's comedians and comedy community, the celebration of Loose Moose Theatre's 35th Anniversary and Yuk Yuk's 25th Anniversary in our city, and the support and inclusion of comedy venues and rooms (Red Carpet Comedy, Comedy Monday Night, and Dirty Laundry Improvised Soap Opera, many others to be confirmed) the YYComedy Festival promises to be the funniest of all the remarkable Calgary 2012 cultural events..
