Metropolitan Winds in Concert - Friday March 16, 7:30 pm. Hope Lutheran, Calgary Please join the Metropolitan Winds for our second concert of the season! The eclectic program includes Beethoven’s Egmont Overture, Hymn for the Cream and Crimson by Saucedo, Third Suite by Jager, Dusk by Bryant and Olympiada by Hazo. In addition we will be featuring the challenging Vesuvius composed by Frank Ticheli. Originally started as a wild and passionate dance the piece became more fiery and explosive as it developed and was more in keeping with a dance in the final days of Pompeii before it was destroyed by Mt Vesuvius. An exciting piece we’re sure you will enjoy. The Metropolitan Winds is one of Calgary's finest wind ensembles. Tickets are $10 (adults), $5 (seniors/students) and are available at the door.
