Deyo will be discussing and showcasing her work on Friday, October 14, 2011 in the Art Building (AB 672) at 10:00 a.m. Deyo was born in British Columbia and now lives and works in Montreal. She completed a BFA at Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design, Vancouver (1995) and received an MFA from Concordia University, Montr al (1998). Her works have been in exhibitions across Canada, in the US, and Europe. The Super Spirograph toy has been central to her current production of drawings, installations and videos. Her large-scale encaustic works were shown in the solo exhibitions Vistas, Art Gallery of Outremont (2007) and Skyscapes at EXPRESSION in Saint-Hyacinthe (2006). Deyo is represented by the Paul Kuhn Gallery in Calgary. The Visiting Artist and Scholar Lecture Series aims to intrigue, inspire and spark discussion about art and its creation. The Department of Art sponsors the Visiting Artist and Scholar Series during the Fall and Winter terms and invites the public to join in the free presentations.
