Southern Alberta fans of storytelling and live music are in for a treat when two of Canada's top female cowgirl entertainers make a concert appearance in Turner Valley on Saturday, March 19. Lewis Memorial United Church presents cowboy poet Doris Daley and singer songwriter Eli Barsi, both award winning entertainers and both veterans of performance halls across North America. Daley lives in Turner Valley and the March 19 show finishes up a winter tour of performances in Denver, Colorado; Elko, Nevada; Ellensburg, WA; Alpine, Texas and Kamloops, BC. Eli Barsi recently concluded a 6-year musical career in Branson, Missouri and now lives in her home province of Saskatechewan. Barsi's engaging lyrics, spirited yodeling and award- winning song writing pay tribute to both the historiacal and contemporary west and make her a favorite on western stages. Daley and Barsi will present original material, including serveral song collaborations. "Guests will be in for an evening of laughter, music, stories, old fashioned storytelling and fun for the whole family," explains Elinor Melnyk, committee organizer. Tickets are $20.00 each and are available at Marv's Classic Soda Shop, Black Diamond, Boot Hill Gallery in Longview and in Okotoks and at Carlson's on Macleod in High River. .
