Launch of the 'Icon' Showcase Series

Crabbe Management, a global marketing consultancy based in Portland/Los Angeles, and Madflower Creative Group, a Calgary-based event and creative services company, have announced the selection of Calgary, Canada, as the final screening location of the “Across the Hall” movie starring the late Brittany Murphy. The screening will be showcased as part of a groundbreaking new monthly arts & culture showcase series entitled, ‘Icon’.

“We have been working with our strategic partner Madflower Creative Group to find just the right event to bring to Calgary, said Michael Crabbe, VP, Business Development, “ the Crabbe Management Team is really excited to be doing this finale screening of the Across the Hall movie in Calgary, as part of Icon program.”

"Across the Hall", directed by Alex Merkin and starring Mike Vogel, Danny Pino, and the late Brittany Murphy is a thriller about a standoff between a young man, his fiancee and his best friend who comes to his aide. The film, winner of the GZ Magazine Film Award for Best Thriller 2010, was expanded from an award winning short film starring Entourage's Adrian Grenier. Both films will screen at the Icon Showcase event. "I’m incredibly excited to visit Calgary for the first time and screen Across the Hall,” said director Alex Merkin. “I've heard nothing but amazing things about the spirit, vibrancy and beauty of the city. I can't imagine a more fitting place to be holding the final screening of the film."

The screening with VIP movie Director, Alex Merkin and Executive Producer, Evan Ferrante in attendance, will take place on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 7:00pm at Uptown Theatre.

The official screening After Party is scheduled to begin later that evening at 9:00pm, at MANGO SHIVA, with Evan and Alex hosting.

Tickets are $20, which includes access to the film screening, Q&A with the film's Producer and Director, and the After Party, and can be bought through the following outlets as of Jan. 4th:

An exciting addition to the evening, will be the highly anticipated return of Los Angeles' own fashion icon Adolfo Sanchez, showcasing his new Spring line to all the fashionistas and industry crowd which will be in attendance. Sanchez first created waves in Calgary when his Winter line debuted at the Golden Ticket Gala, produced by Madflower Creative Group.
