This event celebrates both the North American traditional and biblical aspects of Christmas. On December 3 4:00 to 8:00 pm and December 4 10:00 am to 5:00 pm., you will see the elves busy preparing for Santa s big day, carollers voices heard throughout the festival and stories of the Christ child. The Golden Age Club welcomes you in joyous spirits. They are located at 610 8 Ave. SE. Inside, you will find colour, lights, and action into a magical place of fun, intrigue and bountiful Christmas spirit. Festival Entry Entry into the festival will be a goodwill donation. Fundraiser With the assistance of LKR Events, The Golden Age Club has generously agreed to open their doors during the festival and present their facility. Members of The Golden Age Club will therefore be participating in the Christmas Festival by assisting with certain aspects of the event and sharing with visitors about the many opportunities their membership gives. Seniors will be greeting and ushering visitors at the main door, giving the public the event program, selling 50/50 tickets and promoting their newspaper, The Informer. The Golden Age Club will also operate the coat check, which is located near the entrance. Coat check fee is $1.00. Upstairs, the seniors will be supplying a service and for a small fee, gift-wrapping and storage of gifts, purchased from the Exhibitors. Santa s Workshop will be busy preparing for this busy season, elves at work. Santa s Workshop is located near the main lobby. Festive Decorating So many festive decorations will be displayed throughout. Watch for the green sales tag attached to some. The sales tag outlines if the item was donated or consigned. The proceeds to the sales of these decorations will be donated to The Golden Age Club. In the manger, you will find baby Jesus bundled up. Mary and Joseph resting from their long journey and telling stories of the birth of their child. Mary and Joseph will receive the sales of the Christmas decorations and give a gift of a bible. Exhibitors will be adorned in festive wear. Exhibit spaces and table draping will blend into the colours of the season, by using, fabrics, ornaments, lights, floral, etc. Music Two stage areas, one in the main hall, and the other in the caf . Live music is scheduled at various times in both locations with schedules posted in the program. Elvis will be in the building, plus other exciting entertainers. Santa and Mrs. Claus and other characters Upstairs in the Library, while the children await Santa s arrival, you will find Mrs. Claus sharing stories of Santa s reindeer and the North Pole. Candy Cane Lady, elves and Shepherds will be available to assist you as you find your way throughout the festival.
